I smoke a pipe, I smoke in private and in public. I smoke in permitted places and with protest gladly walk across the grounds and smoke my pipe in protest to their "No Tobacco on Campus" policy. By the way I have done this right in front of several county police cars before with no reprimand. I am just sick and tired of the prejudice that smokers are under.
Granted there are some smokers who not only abuse the privilege to smoke, but befoul the areas with inconsideration. So to all my fellow pipers, I say smoke it while you got it. The pleasure police are out there and are seeking to make us a minority group. Their impact on us is considerable while most of us are considerate of others.
Tobacco is a number one cash crop in some states in the US and is a thriving business for thousands. Some of the finest tobacco are US blends although I will have to admit a particular liking for the Petersen brand of Tobacco as well as the Samuel Gawith collection. I will be posting from time to time here about blends I have smoked and liked and I will recommend brands as well.
Right now I'm smoking a bowl of "Old Toby", yes "the finest weed in the South Farthing." to quote Bilbo Baggins. The blend comes from http://www.justforhim.com and is well worth the price! I recommend to you the sampler pack to try all the "Lord of the Ring" blends then when you do purchase do the most economical way and purchase a pound. The cost savings is worth it.
"Old Toby" is a smooth blend with little to no bite. It had a thick woodsy aroma and flavour and is deeply satisfying to me as I like a good Burley. More postings coming soon.

Dry Spell Over, it's raining cats and dogs in ideas here!!
Well folk a long dry spell is over. I took down one of my looms as I need to do some structural work on it, and put the Nilus back up in its place for now. I've got a nice little warp on there and am working on stoles, the long scarf like garment a priest or preacher would wear.
It has been a long dry spell for me, I got wrapped up in the pseudo-life and games going on in the virtual world of Facebook and forgot that there was a real world out there. I was trying to get some inventory up for various festivals in the church so as to generate some income doing something I do enjoy while working on my degree in Accounting.
So now I'm back at the loom, faced with several possibilities, the main one is my next project. That's the thing with us crafting folk, we are always looking ahead a project or two. My next one is going to be a full warp, 36~45" wide and several yards long and will be a lace pattern that I fancy quite a bit which I think will make lovely material for altar vestments and hangings.
I'm also about to invest in a small upgrade on my loom with getting the sectional warp rakes for the warp beam, for the weaving illiterati out there, basically I'm setting the back beam or roll on my loom up so that I can put the warp threads (thread from from to rear of the loom) in an easier fashion.
All this to say that I'm getting back into the game and will be posting some pictures up as well, just as soon as I get this blogger thingy figured out. So have a bit of patience with this old crow and we'll muddle along.
ttfn.
